What is dry eye syndrome?
Dry eye syndrome occurs when tears do not sufficiently lubricate the ocular surface. It can be caused by insufficient tear production or rapid evaporation due to Meibomian gland dysfunction. We would have preferred that the investigation by the surgeon be carried out immediately, followed by a planning of the future surgical intervention. I was not surprised by the cost of the consultation, since I initially asked for information during the telephone appointment. If I have to pay the same amount of 450 lei once again for the future consultation undertaken by the surgeon, the cost of the consultation for the surgery would seem quite high! I will have to clarify the total cost of the surgery in the coming days consultations, surgery and the lens which unfortunately none of them benefit from our contributions to CASS!
All in all, I can say that the first contact with the clinic staff was civilized and professional!

Dry eye syndrome is a condition of the ocular surface caused by quantitatively insufficient or poor quality tears. The tear film fails to lubricate and protect the eye, leading to discomfort, irritation and sometimes vision problems.
Excessive tearing is often a compensatory reflex response to poor quality tear film. Reflex tears are predominantly watery and do not contain enough lipid component to prevent evaporation. Thus, although the eyes water, the ocular surface remains unprotected.
No, the treatment is completely non-invasive and painless. Most patients describe the experience as relaxing and pleasant, similar to a spa treatment for the eyes. You may feel gentle warmth in the treated area, but there is no discomfort.
